Begegnungszone Pradler Straße
The Pradler Straße is one of the few remaining intact secondary high streets in Innsbruck. The ground floor area is enlivened with few interruptions by shops for daily needs and services. Through the arrangement of shops on both sides of the street, the given linear crossing seems to be contradictory to the needed flow of pedestrians. To improve the high street regarding quality of stay and enhance the public realm, it is proposed to define and convert a portion of the street as shared space. The experience demonstrates that the proposed measures would also consequently increase the retail customers.
